Balsamic Shaved Brussel Sprouts

Looking for a new and tasty side for your dinner? These balsamic shaved Brussel sprouts would make a great addition to any meal.

Balsamic vinegar and Brussel sprouts make the perfect pair, and once you add in caramelized onions and garlic, you will want to make these with every meal! And they are easy enough to make to do so!

Ingredients

  • Brussel Sprouts (1 bag shaved)*

  • 1 Small onion chopped

  • 2 Tbsp vegan butter

  • 2 Cloves of garlic

  • 3-4 Tbsp Balsamic vinegar

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan over low-medium heat and add in the chopped onions.

  2. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the onions start to brown.

  3. Add in the other tablespoon of butter, garlic, and 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar.

  4. Stir until everything is combined.

  5. Add in the shaved Brussel sprouts and mix to combine.

  6. Add in the salt and pepper and other 1-2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar (depending on how acidic you want them to taste) and mix to combine.

  7. Cook for 10-15 minutes on low-medium heat, stirring occasionally until Brussel sprouts are tender.

  8. Option to top with roasted chestnuts or any other type of roasted nut.

  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

You can buy the Brussel sprouts shaved in the store, or you can shave them yourself using the “slice” blade on a food processor. It is important to use the “slice” blade and not the “shred” blade because the “shred” makes the pieces too small.
